Position Details:
• Job Title: Associate Pastor
• Location: Great Cacapon, WV (within 20-minute commute from church preferred)
• Employment Type: Full-time, Bi-vocational

• Denomination Qualifications: While affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is not required, candidates must subscribe to Reformed/Calvinistic Baptist doctrine and practice.
​
• Salary: Commensurate with experience (part-time, initially for training)

Key Responsibilities:
• Preaching & Teaching:
- Prepare and deliver sermons when senior pastor is away.
- Assist in teaching and leading Bible studies.
• Church Leadership & Support:
- Collaborate with senior pastor to oversee church activities and ministries.
- Assist in the administration and planning of church events.
• Training & Development:
- Learn pastoral responsibilities and leadership under the mentorship of the senior pastor.
- Participate in pastoral training to prepare for future church leadership as senior pastor.​

Qualifications:

• Subscription to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and the Dallas Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel.
​
• Experience in expository preaching and teaching and how to apply the Scriptures practically in everyday life.
​
• A pastoral heart that desires to guide and care for those entrusted to him.
​
• A willingness to serve in a small congregation.
Responsibilities:
​
• Expository preaching and teaching.
​
• Shepherd the flock through biblical teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
​
• Provide leadership in the spiritual development of the congregation.
​
• Lead the church in worship, prayer, and service, with a heart for evangelism.
​
• Be involved in church administrative matters in collaboration with the elders and deacons.
Compensation:
​
This is a full-time senior pastoral role, but due to the size of the congregation, the position is not fully salaried (though a modest stipend may be offered, as the Lord provides). For this reason, the position is best suited to one who bi-vocational or retired, relying on other means of provision.
